ARES Meeting Wed. November 12th PDF Print E-mail
Written by ve3rhj
Saturday, 08 November 2008
The next scheduled meeting of Grey County ARES is Wednesday, November 12th, 7 p.m., at the United Way Office, 380 9th Street E., in Owen Sound. This is the blue building on the corner, just east of the post office and across the street from Knox United Church.

Our presentation this month will be Brad VE3RHJ on "How to use an oscilloscope." The oscilloscope is probably the second-most-useful piece of electronic test equipment (after the multimeter), but it can be bewildering to the newcomer. Brad will show the use of the oscilloscope to view waveforms, measure voltage and time (frequency), and explain the operation of triggered sweep.

DOOR PRIZE: in keeping with this month's topic, Bob VE3RWZ has donated a used B&K 1466A 5-inch, single-trace, 10 MHz, triggered-sweep oscilloscope. We will hold a draw at the end of the meeting to give this away to one attendee.
